Shaft Sinking

A. sectional SHAFT

1.Faktor which determine the shape of the shaft cross-section:

  •      The physical properties of ground
  •      hoisting system
  •      Material for liner
  •      Age shaft
  •      Depth of the shaft will be made

2. Factors that determine the size of the shaft

  •      Amount of mine production
  •      Number of compartments (bulkhead) shafts are made
  •      function of shaft

When the function shaft to "hoisting shafts", its size is determined by:

  •      Outer size dr hoisting equipment (cage or skip)
  •      Leisure distance (clearance) between the walls of the shaft conveyance: local steel> 150        mm, local wood> 200 mm
  •      Hoisting system (single or tandem), min. 200 mm
  •      The distance between the conveyance bunton (iron baffle) fitted with a paddling guide> 200 mm. If there are savings> 70 mm
  •      Width of bunton

B. Excavation methods SHAFT

Undetermined order methods, procedures and completeness excavation, dibperlukan:

  •      Characteristics of the ground:

- Very incompetent rock (loose material)

- Competent rock

- Very competent rock with cracks and fissures

- Massive very competent rock

     Type shaft (vertical or oblique)
Cross-sectional shape and size of the shaft
Type and size of its lining
     Excavation facilities available

Methods of excavation shaft (shaft sinking) basically consists of 3 methods:

1.Metode manual (shaft sinking by manual method)

2.Metode conventional (shaft sinking by conventional method)

3.Metode Unconventional (shaft sinking by rotary drilling)

C. SINKING PLANT & EQUIPMENT HOIST

For excavation equipment needful shaft, either by conventional methods or not is called the sinking plant, while the hoist equipment all components / equipment needed to lift the excavation, workers and material in a quarry / mining.
